The summer holidays have come to a close, but it’s never too soon to plan your next adventure

Whether you fancy some winter sun in Alicante, a city break in Dublin, London and Manchester, or even Christmas shopping in New York – our small, friendly airport is ready to welcome you and onwards to our winter destinations with our airline partners.

Back to Blog

So far this summer over 144,000 passengers travelled through our terminal with nine airlines flying to 18 destinations throughout the UK and into Europe. The busiest routes were London, Manchester, Dublin, Alicante and Faro. Our operational team managed an exceptionally busy summer period for our airport, and as we are a small friendly team here, all parts of the business came together ensuring it was as hassle and stress free as possible for our passengers.

Here is our Head of Operations, Andrew Boomer, helping to load the British Airways Airbus 319 ready to take-off to London Heathrow last weekend. The team are carrying out safety preparations to ensure that passengers and equipment do not come into contact with each other or the aircraft.

Most of our existing route network will return in spring 2023 and flights are on sale now with new routes to be announced over the coming months.

The summer holidays have come to a close, but it’s never too soon to start planning the next adventure.  Whether you fancy some winter sun, a city break or even Christmas shopping in New York – our small, friendly airport is ready to welcome you and onwards to our winter destinations with our airline partners.

Alicante

If you fancy a weekend city break, or a longer winter sun break, Ryanair are flying direct to Alicante every Monday and Friday this winter.

As Alicante transitions from summer to winter it never loses its charm, it may even become more attractive with its Christmas traditions to enjoy in the warm temperatures during the UK’s rather chillier months of October to March. It guarantees a good time at any time of the year, but the beginning of the winter season is the perfect time to soak in all the magic and contrasts in Alicante, a place that is synonymous of sun, good food and a wide cultural offer.

One of the best things about heading over to Alicante out of season is that you can enjoy the warm sun and lovely scenery around you, while it is quieter. You can fly direct to Alicante from Cornwall Airport Newquay with Ryanair twice a week, all year round. So, book today for cheap flights with Ryanair and an effortless trip to Europe from your local airport.

London

We now have three airlines operating up to three times daily into the main London airports: London Gatwick and London Heathrow.  This means you can travel to the Capital in as little as an hour!

Whether you’re connecting on to an international flight, visiting friends and family or just fancy a little day trip – we have it covered here at Cornwall Airport Newquay.

So, get out and explore it with a walk over frosty leaves or snuggle up in cosy pub in front of a roaring fire. Such a diverse city with so many attractions to cater for all.  Experience the magic of Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year, which are just some of the many must-see winter events in London.

At just a 75 minute flight from Newquay it has long been popular with tourists looking to get away for a good time in one of the city's hundreds of pubs and bars.  And while Dublin is famous for its world-class pubs, there's so much more to the city than its tipple.
