Founded in 1635, Hartford is the capital of Connecticut and is among the oldest cities in the United States. There are many sites of historical significance that are well worth a visit, including the very house where Mark Twain famously wrote his most popular novels and raised his family. The city is renowned for it’s beautiful trees in ‘Fall’ (that’s Autumn to us Brits) and a stroll through the streets at this time of year is truly memorable.
