Trains

The nearest train station is Newquay. The branch line from Newquay connects to the main train line at Par.

A partnership between Cornwall Council, Great Western Railway and Network Rail is currently developing the Mid Cornwall Metro. From next year, the train service between Newquay and Par (which currently has trains every two hours) will double to hourly, creating an additional 700,000 seats both ways, per year. This is possible with the introduction of a new rail passing loop at Tregoss Moor will allow trains to pass each other. Alongside this a new platform at Newquay will enable local and long-distance services to operate concurrently – meaning local services can run all year round. These improvements will provide significantly improve rail access to and from Newquay. Further details about Mid Cornwall Metro can be found at Mid Cornwall Metro – official site
