Back to Press releases

Summer 2021 is just around the corner, and Cornwall Airport Newquay are gearing up to welcome passengers back to the Airport for connections around the UK, Europe and beyond. The new four-year London PSO route is expected to be announced in the coming weeks and is due to commence operations on 28th March 2021. The teams at the Airport and Cornwall Council have been working closely with the Department for Transport to ensure the London route serves both Cornish residents travelling to London for business and leisure and inbound tourists to the Cornish coastline.

Also due to commence operations in March is the Airport’s newest airline partner, Loganair. The Scottish airline will be reconnecting Cornwall to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Aberdeen as well as operating routes to Manchester and Teesside alongside the current Eastern Airways services.

Ryanair will resume their popular routes to Alicante and Faro in March, and the Airport is also expecting to see a return of the Aer Lingus route to Dublin, and Eastern Airways’ routes to Manchester, Teesside and Leeds-Bradford.

Later in the summer, Blue Islands will return to the Airport to operate routes to Jersey and Guernsey, providing a great link for holiday makers wishing to visit the Channel Islands or Cornwall.

European connections to Dusseldorf (with Eurowings) and Copenhagen (with SAS) are also expected to operate this summer, as is the route to the Isles of Scilly with operator Skybus.

The summer 2021 schedule at Cornwall Airport Newquay is shaping up to be an exciting year, and it’s still being worked on so keep an eye out for new announcements throughout the coming months.

While the Airport currently remains closed, the team are working hard to ensure a safe reopening once lockdown restrictions are lifted.
