Cornwall Airport Limited has released its latest passenger figures, which show passenger numbers for June 2016 up by 51% on June 2015. According to the latest figures 42,343 passengers used the Airport in June.
This is the largest month on month growth the Airport has experienced in a number of years and is attributed to a larger number of people choosing to fly to and from Cornwall as a result of increased routes and capacity from the Airport this year.
Al Titterington, Managing Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay said: “We continue to work hard to secure new routes and higher frequency services to best serve the people of Cornwall as well as those wishing to visit our beautiful county. It’s really rewarding to see more and more people benefitting from the improved connectivity options now on offer.”
Welcoming the significant growth in passenger numbers Adam Paynter, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “I am delighted by the progress being made by Cornwall Airport Newquay. It is an important part of our transport infrastructure and is providing an increasing number of connections for visitors to get to Cornwall.”
