Cornwall Takes Flight – Easter Bank Holiday at Cornwall Airport Newquay

If you noticed a little more buzz in the air over the Easter bank holiday weekend, you weren’t imagining it – Cornwall Airport Newquay was positively soaring!

With 5,856 passengers passing through our terminal, 74 flights taking off, and 14 routes in operation – including our brand-new service to London Southend and the early return of favourites Edelweiss and Eurowings – this year’s Easter holiday marked one of our busiest to date.

Compared to Easter 2024, we’ve seen a 43.8% increase in passengers and a 34.5% jump in flight activity, a clear sign that more people than ever are choosing to fly local and explore the world from right here in Cornwall.

A Confident Start to Easter 2025

These numbers aren’t just impressive – they’re a testament to the strength and ambition of our growing route network, as well as the dedication of #TeamNQY, who ensured every flight took off smoothly and every journey began with a warm Cornish welcome.

We’re particularly thrilled to see the early return of Edelweiss and Eurowings, providing more options for European travel direct from Newquay. And with the addition of London Southend to our route map, we’re continuing to open doors for both business and leisure travellers to connect with ease.

More Destinations, More Growth, More Cornwall

As your proper local’ airport, we’re proud to support the region’s connectivity, economy, and tourism – and this Easter’s performance is a strong indicator of even greater things to come. The appetite for travel is back, and Cornwall is ready to fly.

Whether you’re heading off on a weekend city break, a family holiday abroad, or welcoming visitors to our beautiful county, Cornwall Airport Newquay is here to make travel easy, efficient, and exciting.

Thank You

To our Easter Weekend passengers – all 5,856 of you – thank you for starting your journey with us. And to our hardworking team – we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to a future full of more routes, more growth, and even more reasons to fly local.
