As Security Officer you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated and motivated team in a fast-paced environment.  Cornwall Airport Newquay’s commitment to excellence and security measures will be brought to life this summer as we invest in state-of-the art security equipment – transforming the passenger experience and keeping up with other UK airports.  There will be opportunities to train in the latest technologies, offering a chance to develop valuable skills and expertise in the field. 

The role involves working three days on, three days off rota pattern – helping to achieve a healthy work / life balance. 

Main Purpose of the Role 

Maintenance of a secure environment for airport activities using observation, aids, external equipment and assisting with the maintenance and establishment of security standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To screen passengers and baggage in accordance with the laid down procedures

To search baggage as required

To carry out X-ray duties

To carry out mobile patrols

To screen airport personnel in accordance with laid down procedures

To produce written reports as required in accordance with local procedures

To maintain the cleanliness of the terminal

To assist the On Call Senior Manager with Airport/Airline emergency procedures as published in the relevant manuals.

To assist the Airside Manager with any Hold Baggage Reconciliation functions as required.

About You

Experience in dealing with the public, in a customer service related position

Good basic education standards to GCSE level, especially English and Maths

Extremely well presented and of smart appearance 

Good oral skills 

Highly motivated 

Extremely flexible 

Ability to remain calm and methodical in stressful situations

Basic IT knowledge

Able to work as part of a team under direction, following strict procedures

Our offer to you

Salary: £11,934 - £23,870

Contract: Permanent

Working Hours: Part time 21 hours per week, Full time 42 hours per week.  

Shift patterns 3 days on 3 days off

Location: Cornwall Airport, Newquay
