Airfield Engineer Opportunity at Cornwall Airport Newquay.

We are looking for someone who holds relevant experience with Air Traffic Management Systems, including Navigational Aids, Aeronautical Ground Lighting, Radar, Meteorological Systems and Radio Communications.

About the role

Maintain the communication and navigation systems at Cornwall Airport Newquay in accordance with the requirements of CAP 670, Eurocontrol Regulations and the ATS Safety Management System. Maintain the Aeronautical Ground Lighting Systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repair of Air Traffic Management Systems including Navigation Aids and Communication Systems.

Maintenance and repair of the Aeronautical Ground Lighting System.

Carry out scheduled Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance.

Conduct fault investigation and rectification.

To support the development and installation of new systems as appropriate.

Ensuring that all maintenance documents are correctly completed

Attend any training courses as required​​​​​​​

Respond to any out of hours requirements as detailed in the On Call Policy.​​​​​​​

Take responsibility for own risk assessments and H&S in liaison with management. Ensure all duties undertaken have a relevant risk assessment and that procedures are followed.​​​​​​​

Maintain a working knowledge of CAA, ICAO and EASA requirements.​​​​​​​

Maintain knowledge of departmental instructions and procedures contained within the Manual of Air Traffic Services Part IV.​​​​​​​

Any other tasks deemed within your capability for the effective operation of the Airfield Engineering department and the Airport.

About you

Experience with Air Traffic Management Systems, including Navigation Aids, Radar, IRVR and Radio Communications.

Full Driving Licence

IT experience

Electronic Qualification – City and Guilds, BTEC NVQ or higher
